Mecova Street Staircase

This project features a unique glass staircase that blends minimalist elegance with precise technical solutions. Designed as a centerpiece of the interior, the staircase seamlessly combines aesthetics and functionality. Its main visible elements include glass treads and landings made from a combination of cast glass and clear plexiglass.

The glass railing surrounding the staircase opening is made of clear laminated glass, secured to posts with triangular brackets. These posts also support a double handrail that transitions smoothly into the landing railings. The staircase railing itself is more complex, consisting of polished stainless steel, double handrails, and infill made of paired rods. The main structural support of the staircase is a central helix cut from a steel tube. This helix is anchored to both the floor and the ceiling and finished with a black coating, creating a striking contrast with the polished stainless steel and clear glass components.

The staircase is enhanced by integrated lighting, including recessed floor lights and ceiling illumination. The ceiling design mirrors the staircase outline, adding a dynamic visual effect to the space. The entire design combines high-quality materials, innovative engineering, and modern aesthetics, resulting in a unique architectural feature that is both functional and visually stunning.
