IKEM Hospital Extension
The architectural design of the new IKEM buildings is rooted in the idea of creating spaces that seamlessly combine functionality with aesthetics, providing a dignified environment for cutting-edge medical care. The project aims not only to ensure the efficient operation of the hospital but also to establish a modern and representative setting that reflects the significance of the processes taking place within the buildings.
The architecture of the new structures is based on a rational and sustainable approach. The buildings are designed to convey a modern yet timeless impression, with a focus on clean lines, thoughtful proportions, and harmonious integration into the existing IKEM campus. The exterior façades feature shading elements that serve a dual purpose: regulating heat and enhancing the aesthetic quality of the buildings. The main entrance to the Cardiology Center is conceived as a representative and welcoming space, designed to meet the highest standards of healthcare architecture.
The interior spaces are organized to support operational efficiency. The centralization of intensive care units in close proximity to diagnostic and surgical facilities ensures seamless coordination of all critical activities. The atrium between buildings G1 and G2 is designed as a rooftop garden, enriching the architectural character of the complex while providing a tranquil space for patients, staff, and visitors alike.
