Hotel Josef, opened in 2002, is located at the intersection of Masná and Rybná streets in the historical heart of Prague. This design hotel represents a unique combination of modern architecture and historical context. With its minimalist style and emphasis on modern materials such as glass and steel, the hotel creates an atmosphere of lightness and elegance.

The building consists of two main blocks connected by a glass corridor. The front facade avoids dominant elements and instead creates a harmonious mosaic that respects the architectural features of the surrounding buildings. The color scheme is neutral and utilizes natural materials, while the glass elements allow for maximum natural light and provide stunning views of the historic city center.

The interiors of the hotel rooms are designed to fulfill various functions, such as relaxation and work. The aim was to create a pleasant and functional environment. The space is dominated by large windows that serve as active visuals. The color scheme is conceived in calm pastel shades, while movable elements, such as armchairs, cushions, and bed covers, are in warm, bright colors that can easily be changed according to current trends or guest preferences. The space is illuminated by various types of lighting, allowing for work, reading, or enjoying beautiful views. The furniture is made from lacquered MDF, and the floors feature fire-resistant carpets. Balleri armchairs and curtains complete the color palette of the interior. Open bathrooms made of frosted glass create a sense of openness while ensuring the necessary privacy, as the hotel was built on a compact parcel within the Old Town. There are also rooms with traditional enclosed bathrooms. The last two floors with terraces offer stunning views of the city skyline.

The hotel is equipped with a modern fitness center and conference rooms with a capacity of up to 80 people, catering to the needs of business clients. There is also a private garden that provides a tranquil place for relaxation amid the city hustle. The iconic glass staircase in the lobby, made of polished glass and stainless steel, has become a symbol of the connection between form and function, characteristic of architect Eva Jiřičná's work.

Hotel Josef is also the only Prague member of the prestigious Design Hotels™ group, which attests to its unique approach to design and luxury. It has become not only an example of modern architecture in the historical center of Prague but also an icon for its distinctive design and high standard of service. With various modern amenities and beautiful views, Hotel Josef has truly become a gem among Prague hotels.

Hotel Josef is a heartfelt project for us, being one of our first in Prague. Despite the very low budget, we had the opportunity to realize an amazing vision. The client was excellent, with a strong focus on details, which allowed us to create something truly exceptional. This project not only motivated and inspired us for our future work.
