Canada Water Bus Station

The Canada Water Bus Station, located above the Jubilee Line Extension tube station, connects bus and train services while addressing passenger needs and nearby residents' concerns. The design aligns with the tube station exits and includes bus shelters, offices, public toilets, and a refreshment kiosk, with noise and pollution carefully mitigated due to the proximity of residential blocks.

The station’s centerpiece is a large winged roof connected by a glass "crystal," providing acoustic protection for flats while enhancing passenger comfort with natural light and ventilation. The central block, housing bus and underground services, is clad in reconstituted stone with glass-enclosed waiting areas under a low-level canopy for shelter.

Landscaped views are integrated, with a northern glass wall overlooking a garden and a western clerestory enhancing light and acoustic performance. Glass roof ends maximize daylight, and nighttime uplighting creates a welcoming ambiance. A mesh screen ensures pedestrian safety near the residential area.

Carefully chosen materials, including London stocks, glass, and stainless steel, create a calm, functional, and visually cohesive transit hub that seamlessly blends practicality with modern design.
